Damian Pavlinovich

Director of Wellness by Design – Como Health & Fitness Centre

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Damian is a pioneer in the industry with over 20 years’ experience in the industry having worked in Non-Government, Government and private enterprises. Through his involvement in a wide variety of areas, Damian has developed great depth of knowledge and skill in assisting clients with improving their health, fitness and quality of life from cancer patients, Vietnam veterans, injured athletes and seniors.

Damian completed his Sports Science degree at Edith Cowan University  graduating in 1994. During his career in the health and fitness industry, he has worked in various roles at the Perth Hockey Stadium and Hockey WA, Sports Medicine Australia (where he developed and co-ordinated the Community Education Program) and with the Health Department developing a falls prevention program.

Jess Milne

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Jess brings with her 4 years of experience in a similar position in Cape Town South Africa. After completing her undergraduate degree in Sport Science and Honours in Exercise Science in Durban (2008-2011), Jess moved to Cape Town where she was completed an internship and consequent full time employment at The Sports Science Institute of South Africa (2012-2015).

Jess moved to Perth and joined the team to work part time from January 2016 while studying a full-time Postgraduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation at the University of Western Australia.

Jess has completed her studies and is now working as a full time Accredited Exercise Physiologist at CHFC.

She loves what she does, and has had experience working with and providing exercise prescription to a broad range of clients in individual and group class situations. She will be the resident instructor for our KeepFit 55+ classes on a Tuesday and Thursday morning.

Jess will work from early morning through to evenings on Mondays and Wednesdays, and from early morning till mid afternoon on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Emily Shields

Personal Trainer / Administration

Emily grew up in Morawa, which is a small country town in mid-west region of WA approximately 350km from Perth. She moved to Perth in the beginning of 2015 where she completed a personal training course. She began working as a Personal Trainer and moved back to Morawa to run her own group outdoor fitness sessions towards the end of 2015.

Emily is currently studying Exercise Science at Curtin and has a passion for helping people reach their fitness goals. “I love seeing people give 110% in a training session” says Emily, “ if you see me around the club please come over and say hello, I would love to meet you and help you with your fitness journey”.

Emily joined the centre in March 2016 and is working a couple of evenings during the week.

Bree Hellewell

Personal Trainer / Strength & Conditioning Coach

Bree joins the Como Health & Fitness Centre Team as of 2018! She completed her Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Curtin University in 2015 and has been working as both a strength and conditioning coach and a personal trainer since then.

Bree has 3 years’ of experience working with WAFL players at Claremont Football Club as their strength & conditioning coach, and 2 years experience in a corporate setting working as a personal trainer for at the Q Fitness Gym in Perth City.

Bree loves sports and always wants to see people performing to the best of their ability. She will make sure you work hard to achieve your goals. She is currently running all of the HIIT classes and is available Mondays (morning and afternoon), Wednesdays (morning and afternoon) and Friday mornings.

Rebecca Parker

Rebecca graduated as a physiotherapist from Curtin University in 1990 and has been working in adult rehabilitation in both inpatient and outpatient settings since then. She has extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation, and has a special interest in Parkinson’s disease. She has worked in the rehabilitation wards and day therapy units at both Bentley and Osborne Park Hospitals and in the Parkinson’s Clinic at OPH.   More recently she has been working at Community Physiotherapy Services where she has been providing exercise and education groups for people with Parkinson’s disease.

Rebecca is enthusiastic about updating her skills and knowledge to ensure that her clients receive the best possible care available. She completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy (Gerontology) at Curtin University in 2000 and a Graduate Diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation at UWA in 2013. In the past year she has completed several professional development programs including PD Warrior® training and she is excited about bringing this program to Perth. PD Warrior® is a registered trademark of Advance Rehab Centre PTY LTD, used under license.
